Turkey promoted at "Destinations" holiday and travel fair in London

LONDON (A.A) - Turkey is being promoted at the "Destinations" holiday and travel fair in British capital of London with a stand. "Destinations" began on Thursday and will remain open until February 5. Turkey's Culture and Tourism Office in London has organized various promotional events at the fair to promote Turkish tourism. The fair includes advertisement from different regions of Turkey. The Turkish stand gives out information on many Turkish travel agencies and the Turkish Airlines (THY). Speaking to the AA, the Turkish Culture and Tourism Counsellor in London, Tolga Tuyluoglu, said that "current reservations indicate that this will be a stable year as far as British tourists were concerned. We do not expect a great increase in the number of British tourists visiting Turkey in 2012. We do believe that we will catch the tourism figures of last year". Despite a shrinkage in the market, Turkey's promotion in Britain continues, Tuyluoglu noted. We will continue to give advertisements on Turkey on TV channels, at the metro, on taxicabs and buses, Tuyluoglu stressed. Turkish cuisine and music are also being promoted at Turkey's stand in London. In 2011, Turkey welcomed close to 35 million tourists from all corners of the world.
