Afghan FM Spokesman Calls For Enhanced Tehran-Kabul Ties

Kabul, June 3, IRNA – Afghan Foreign Ministry spokesman Janan Mosazai on Sunday called for enhanced Tehran-Kabul relations. During his weekly press conference, Mosazai referred to close and all-out relations between Iran and Afghanistan, calling Iran a very good neighbor. Iran is a victim of terrorism, he said, adding that the Islamic Republic has always supported the Afghan government in the campaign against terrorism. He called on Afghan citizens to avoid entering Iran illegally since the border crossings are severely under control of Iranian and Afghan border guards especially because of the upcoming presidential elections in Iran. Elsewhere in his remarks he reiterated that terrorist groups are being equipped in Pakistan and then sent to Afghanistan. He stressed that Afghan police, army and security forces are well prepared to deal will terrorist groups./end
