Afkham Urges Intˈl Community To Counter Terrorism

Tehran, Jan 21, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham here on Tuesday urged the international community to shoulder responsibility regarding fighting terrorism. Talking to reporters during her weekly press briefing, she expressed condolences over martyrdom of Iranian diplomat Abolqassem Assadi in Yemen. Congratulating on the occasion of birth anniversary of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), she stressed that the only solution to the existing problems in the Islamic world is unity. She went on to condole the family of the martyred diplomat and the Iranian nation on his savage murder and hoped the world would soon witness decisive measures against the growing terrorism in the world. Earlier on Saturday, Afkham said that the Iranian diplomat who was injured in a terrorist attack in a Sana’a street attained martyrdom. The terrorists intended to abduct the diplomat but facing his resistance they opened fire on him./end
