Azerbaijani FM meets Georgian Parliament Speaker

Baku, July 8 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met Speaker of the Georgian Parliament David Usupashvili. Mammadyarov praised the current state of Azerbaijan-Georgia relations, adding the two countries had been successfully cooperating in the implementation of the large scale regional projects. The minister stressed the importance of the interparliamentary diplomacy in terms of development of cooperation between the two countries, and expressed confidence that this visit would contribute to expanding friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the minister said because of its aggressive policy Armenia remained isolated from development processes in the region and the regional projects. David Usupashvili said Azerbaijan contributed to stability and development of the region. He expressed confidence that friendly and good neighbourhood relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia would further develop, adding the two countries` parliaments were ready to contribute to this issue. They also exchanged views over the regional projects.
