Azerbaijani President receives credentials of ambassadors of several countries

Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 3 /Trend/ President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received credentials of newly appointed ambassador of Italy Giampaolo Cutillo. The Ambassador passed along a ceremonial guard of honor. The Azerbaijani President had a conversation with the diplomat. The Head of State praised the Azerbaijan-Italy relationship, saying it reached a level of close partnership. President Ilham Aliyev recalled a recent visit of Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta to Azerbaijan. He said the visit saw the two countries hold important discussions on a variety of issues, praising the contribution of the visit to strengthening the bilateral ties. The Head of the State also hailed the great potential for boosting the bilateral relations in the fields of investment making, economy and energy. The Ambassador praised rapid development processes in Azerbaijan. Giampaolo Cutillo stressed the importance of the Italian Premier's visit to Azerbaijan. He also noted the significance of expanding the bilateral ties and cooperation in the fields of energy, trade, reciprocal investment making, culture, tourism and civil society building. The Ambassador said he would spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening relationship between the two countries. They also exchanged views on the issues of bilateral cooperation within the European Union. The same day Azerbaijani President received the credentials of incoming Greek ambassador to the country Dimitrios Tsoungas. Ambassador Dimitrios Tsoungas inspected a ceremonial guard of honor before handing over his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev. The Azerbaijani President and the Greek ambassador had a conversation. Dimitrios Tsoungas recalled as fruitful a visit of Greek President Karolos Papoulias to Azerbaijan. Stressing the existence of big potential for expansion of relations, the diplomat said he would make every effort towards strengthening cooperation between the two countries. The Head of State hailed successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Greece. He recalled the visit of Greek President Karolos Papoulias to Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence Azerbaijan-Greece relations would strengthen even further in a variety of fields, including economics, politics, energy, education and culture. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also received the credentials of incoming ambassador of the Netherlands to the country Robert Jan Gabrielsen. The Ambassador reviewed a guard of honour before presenting his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev. President Ilham Aliyev and the Ambassador had a meeting. Ambassador Robert Jan Gabrielsen said he was deeply impressed by development processes in the capital Baku. He conveyed best wishes of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands to the Azerbaijani people. They noted the existence of good potential for development of bilateral relations between the two countries, and stressed the importance of mutual projects in versatile fields to boost these contacts. The President and the Ambassador exchanged views on expansion of Azerbaijan-Netherlands cooperation within the European Union, and strengthening of bilateral relations in the years ahead.
