Erdogan expresses pleasure over U.S. support in counter-terrorism

SEOUL (AA) – March 25, 2012 – Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that they were pleased with the support of the United States in fight against PKK terrorist organization.
Our fight against the separatist terrorist organization will certainly continue, but meanwhile, we also have the chance to talk to its political extensions, Erdogan told reporters after his meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama in Seoul on Sunday.
Noting that they discussed the recent developments in Iraq, Erdogan said that they took up how they could bring a momentum to the developments in Iraq for peace.
I believe efforts will rapidly give a chance to restore peace in Iraq, said Erdogan.
Erdogan said that they also discussed Cyprus issue with Obama, adding that he hoped the solution would be found sooner.
Regarding Turkish-U.S. relations, Erdogan said that trade volume reached 20 billion USD thanks to the model partnership between the two countries.
