Finland, Hormuzgan Have Great Capacity For Co-op

Bandar Abbas, Feb 16, IRNA – Finnish Ambassador to Iran, by underlining his countryˈs desire to expand relations between the two nations, said that Finland and Hormuzgan have great capacity for cooperation. In a meeting here on Friday evening, Harri Kamarainen told Hormuzgan governor general that ground for cooperation with Hormuzgan province is considerable, adding that cooperation in the fields of trade, portal development, ship construction industry, tourism, university exchanges and construction industry are parts of the ground. Admiring the beauty of Qeshm Island, the ambassador said that cooperation in the sector of tourism can be the first priority in mutual relations. Concerning agricultural products of the province, Kamarainen said that the province has valuable crops which are worth of export. Governor General of Hormuzgan province Ebrahim Azizi said that (port city of) Bandar Abbas is the beginning of north-south corridor and one of the most important ports of the country. He added that there are many commonalities between Hormuzgan province and Helsinki, capital of Finland, which can be used for cooperation. Concerning shipyards, Azizi said that there is a good opportunity for expansion of ties in this field. Referring to desire of Finnish envoy for cooperation between universities, the governor said that ground for talk between Hormozgan and Helsinki universities is ready./end
