FM expresses Mongolia’s position on peace and development

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Purevsuren delivered a report at a plenary meeting of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly on Monday in New York to express a position of Mongolia on a development of physical culture and sports for world peace and development.
The Olympics ensures international peace and development and possesses values of human rights like the UN Charter’s core principles such as public participation, equality, respecting rivals, maintenance and unifying equal and joint powers.
The FM pointed out that Mongolia has approved action programme of the international community on developing physical culture and sports for international peace and development, as well as activities of the UN’s relevant organizations.
Physical culture and sports are vital parts of Mongolian traditional lifestyle. Wrestling, archery and horse racing called Three Manly Games are the traditional custom of nomads to measure their powers and passion, he said adding that boosting of physical culture and sports is one of the priorities of Mongolian government.
Being nominated at the election of the United Nations Council for Human Rights, Mongolia has reaffirmed its promises to cherish human rights not only by developing sports, but also by all directions, Purevsuren emphasized.
