Former Greek FM comments on recent tension on the line of contact

Baku, April 8, AZERTAC Former Greek FM, member of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center Dora Bakoyannis has made a statement on the recent provocations of Armenian armed forces in the occupied Azerbaijani territories. She described the latest development on the line of contact as the most violent clash between the two sides in the last 20 years. Bakoyannis hailed the restoration of ceasefire. "Any minor incident may lead to the aggravation of the conflict. I think that both sides will not lose control over the situation. Otherwise, the situation may lead to undesirable consequences in the region," the statement said. She also highlighted the OSCE Minsk Group's efforts to find a peaceful solution to the problem. "A number of meetings have been held between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the level of heads of state and foreign ministers in order to solve this complicated problem. Relevant proposals have been put forward and particular plans have been draw up to resolve the conflict. But as the problem has not yet been resolved we are witnessing more dangerous and tense situation," the statement said.
