Georgia wants to join UN Human Rights Council

Georgia, Tbilisi, September 12/Trend, N. Kirtzkhalia /
As Georgian Foreign Ministry reported on Thursday, this was said by Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Pandzhikidze in a speech at the 24th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
She presented to the session participants the reforms undertaken by Georgia in the field of human rights protection.
"Significant efforts of the Georgian government, which are aimed at rule of democracy and law and protection of political, economic, social and cultural human rights, as well as the willingness to exchange our experiences with other countries through cooperation within the framework of the Human Rights Council, give me a solid base to nominate Georgia as a member of the Human Rights Council for 2016-2018, "the Minister said.
