IAEA: Bushehr Power Plant Undamaged By Quake

Vienna, April 17, IRNA – International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in a statement declared that earthquake happened on Tuesday in southeast of Iran did not damage Bushehr power plant. IAEAˈs Emergency Affairs and Incident Center in a statement underlined that the quake has not damaged Bushehr nuclear power plant. The agency said that after the earthquake in southeast of Iran they have contacted with Iranˈs Atomic Energy Organization and the center has declared that the quake had no damage on Bushehr nuclear power plant or other nuclear centers in Iran. IAEA underlined that the body, upon its obligations, is ready to help Iran, after big quakes, to secure its radioactive sources. An earthquake measuring 7.5 on Richter scale jolted center and south of Sistan and Baluchestan province on Tuesday afternoon at 15:25 hours local time./end
