Indian Spiritual Leader Slams OIC On Abolition Of Syria’s Membership

New Delhi, Aug 25, IRNA – An Indian spiritual leader, Maulana Dr. Mufti M. Mukarram Ahmed Friday slammed the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) over abolition of membership of Syria. In a Friday sermon, at history Shahi Masjid at Fatehpuri in Delhi, the Friday Prayer leader, Mukarram Ahmed said: “The rejection and abolition of the membership of Syria from OIC is not a way to resolve the Syrian issue. It should be resolved with mutual understanding”. He said that it is the duty of OIC and UN to help Syrian President Bashar Al Asad to solve the issue properly, otherwise result will be the same as happened in Iraq, Egypt and Libya. Syria, victim of West’s proxy war, has been the scene of unrest since mid-March, 2011 and many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the violence. Appealing OIC to play constructive role in resolving various issues related to the Islamic countries, Mukarram urged the organization to utilize its influence against the open terrorism of Israel against Palestinians./end
