International Conference on security to open in Tehran tomorrow

Tehran, Dec 10, IRNA – International Conference on Security will open in Tehran tomorrow in presence of delegations from regional countries to examine avenues to maintain sustainable security in the region. The International Conference will examine the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran to help restore peace and security through dialogue with effective member states of the region. Head of Strategic Research Studies of the Presidential Office Hesameddin Ashena said that the theme of the Conference is 'Regional Security Order in West Asia' and adopting measures to remove suspicions concerning sustainable security and help resolve regional disputes. Lack of balance in dealing with regional security is a serious threat, he said. We believe that we can construct the future and promote hope among countries in the region, he said. After removal of economic sanctions and sound implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the world is looking for the establishment of a constructive interaction among the countries of the region. The influence of transregional powers is the root cause of many conflicts and occupations in west Asia, he said. Many conferences and forums on regional developments in the absence of Iran proved not helpful to resolve the issue but led to an exacerbation of the situation. Some 150 articles and some 200 summarized articles have been sent to the secretariat of the conference for presentation by the dignitaries. 1378/IRNA
