Iran Against Any Political, Military Intervention In Syria: Velayati

Tehran, July 10, IRNA – Iran is against use of any political and military intervention of third countries in Syria, Secretary-General of World Assembly of Islamic Awakening Ali Akbar Velayati, said here on Monday. He told the reporters on the sidelines of the meeting of World Assembly of Islamic Awakening supreme council. “The Syrian people should determine the destiny of their country; the ongoing crisis in Syria is a plot imposed against the Syrian nation and government by the occupying force of the Zionist regime and the US; Iran supports reforms in Syria; UN and Arab League envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan is not satisfied with the break of terms of truce agreement by the armed opposition in Syria.” Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country./end
