Iran, Australia hold talks on Afghanistan

TEHRAN, June 10 (MNA) – In a meeting in Tehran on Saturday, Deputy Foreign Minister for Asian and Oceanian Affairs Abbas Araqchi and the visiting Australian special envoy held talks on Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of efforts to promote peace and security in the country. The two sides also emphasized the need for finding a political solution to the issues facing the country. During his three-day visit to Iran, the Australian official is scheduled to meet with a number of high-ranking Iranian officials.
