Iran-IAEA To Hold Next Round Of Talks In Vienna On May 21

Vienna, April 23, IRNA – Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have agreed on the date and venue of the next round of nuclear talks. As per the agreement, talks will be held in Vienna on May 21. Herman Nackaerts, Deputy Director General of IAEA for Safeguards, said after the 9th round of talks, held in Tehran last February, that the issue of modality was top on the discussions but the negotiators failed to agree on the final document. He stressed that the IAEA considers itself duty-bound to continue dialogues with Tehran. Iran and the IAEA have been in talks for one year on modality, which wants to clarify how Tehran would respond to the IAEA questions on PMD. Iran takes the 2007 modality as a good base for new modality./end
