Iran MPs Condemn Proposed Bahrain-Saudi Arabia Unification Plan

Tehran, May 15, IRNA - Some 192 Members of Parliament in a statement on Monday condemned the plan to unify Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Addressing Bahraini and Saudi Arabian authorities, the statement said the Bahrainis will undoubtedly be more united than before against the occupiers. The statement was read out by a member of Majlis presiding board Mohammad Dehghan. The statement reads that the brave and faithful people of Bahrain especially the clerics, youth and women have proved over the past 15 months that their Islamic zeal, national patriotism, their fisted hands and the slogan of "Allah is the Great" are more powerful than aggressive powers, occupiers and Saudi forces. The MPs reaffirmed in their statement the victory of Bahraini martyrs blood over the oppressors'' swords and added that the Bahraini rulers will be the ultimate losers. "Pakistani mercenaries are suppressing the Bahraini oppressed people and have martyred tens of them, maimed hundreds of others and detained thousands more, but they have failed to force the brave people to submit to Saudi oppressors," the statement added. The statement reiterated that Saudi Arabia after suffering such a disgraceful defeat has decided to declare Bahrain as an Arab independent state and a member of the United Nations as its ally in the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, but Saudi and Bahraini rulers should know that such a unreasonable action would undoubtedly make the Bahraini people more unified than before in their struggle
