Iran-Syria To Enhance Ties : Minister

Tehran, Nov 18, IRNA – Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari said Sunday that Iran and Syria will grow economic cooperation. Ghazanfari made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Syrian Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Qadri Jamil and Minister of State for National Reconciliation Ali Haidar. The Iranian minister said Tehran and Damascus have been witnessing profound relations that will continue in the future at the highest possible level. Expressing his concern over the critical situation in Syria, Ghazanfari hoped the crisis will be settled as soon as possible. For his part, the Syrian diplomat said his country is willing to promote economic relations with Iran as the two currently enjoy a good level of political cooperation. The Syrian officials and representatives from all Syrian groups as well as envoys of the international and regional bodies are attending the first Syrian national dialogue in Tehran./end
