Iran-Turkey Police Have Good Co-op: Official

Ankara, May 16, IRNA – Commander of Crime Prevention Police Bahram Norouzi said that Iran and Turkey police have good cooperation.
Norouzi, who is in Turkey as a member of delegation of Judiciary and Police, told IRNA on Tuesday evening that interaction level is desirable adding that the two countries officials have held joint meetings and the Iranian envoy in Turkey has done tremendous efforts to promote bilateral relations level.
Referring to cooperation between Iran and Turkey police forces in Interpol and exchanging experiences in the field of crime prevention, Norouzi added that the two sides have good cooperation in the field of fight against drug smuggling and five big drug smuggling bands have been arrested upon this cooperation.
The police commander, by referring to Iranian delegation visits to Ankara Police Commanding Control Center, said that Turkey’s police are enjoying new technologies and computer systems to control traffic and to follow up and pursue crimes in the cities and on the roads.
He continued that Turkish police has good progress in the field of crime prevention and more efficient use of new technologies and the two countries can expand their cooperation in exchanging experiences./end
