Iranian police to deal with traders manipulating foreign exchange markets

TEHRAN,Oct.3(MNA) – Iranian police have identified the traders that are manipulating the country’s foreign exchange markets and will deal with them in due time, Deputy National Police Chief Ahmad Reza Radan said on Tuesday. In recent weeks, Iran’s rial has steeply fallen against the U.S. dollar in open-market trade, and the price of gold coins has sharply risen in the country’s markets. Iranian Industries, Mines, and Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari also said on Tuesday that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has issued the required instructions to deal with those people who are distorting the foreign exchange and gold markets. Judiciary spokesman Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejeii also said on Monday that the Judiciary will seriously deal with the people who are manipulating the markets. He also said that the country’s intelligence and security services have been requested to seriously pursue the matter.
