Iran's 1st VP Hails Algeria Positive Stand On Syria

Tehran, May 29, IRNA – First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi here Tuesday evening hailed positive stand of Algeria on Syria. Rahimi made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal. Expressing concern over health condition of the Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, he wished a quick recovery for him. Rahimi said President Bouteflika plays influential role in the World of Islam. As to Tehran-Algiers relations, Rahimi said Iran attaches importance to ties with Algeria and is willing to promote bilateral cooperation. Sellal, too, expressed his countryˈs solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran. He announced that Algerian foreign minister is to attend the ˈFriends of Syriaˈ meeting in Tehran to open today./end
