Iran's Technological Progress, Slap On West’s Unjust Sanctions: Indian Scholar

New Delhi, Aug 26, IRNA – Congratulating Iranian scientists on the mass production of home-made Saeqeh warplane, an Indian academician Sunday said that Iran’s technological advancement is a slap on West’s unjust sanctions. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Professor Basir Ahmad Khan, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi said: “I not only extend my congratulations but also appreciate all Iranian scientists, technologists, associated with this important achievement”. "Despite facing unjust sanctions, the achievement of this milestone, not only represents a great stride in progress of Iran’s technological capabilities but also a praiseworthy,” noted the Indian scholar. He further noted that efforts of Iranian scientists to attain self-sufficiency, in the related areas in particular and different sectors in general, has set an example for the countries dependent on West’s help. He maintained that Iran, considering scientific backwardness, as one of the root causes of political and military bullying by developed countries over undeveloped states, aimed for a national goal of self sustainment in all scientific arenas. “The commitment and hardship has not only thwarted the international sactions, but has made Iranian scientists reach out to the world,” said Indian academician. Today Iran’s scientific proress is considered to be one of the fastest in the world, he added. Prof Basir, who had also served as the head of the Department of Islamic Studies at Jamia Hamdard University in New Delhi, stressed that Muslim countries of the region, should imitate Iran and if necessary take help of the Persian Gulf nation for making themselves independent in technological advancement. “The West is exploiting them due to their dependence on it, he concluded./end
