Italian Parliamentary Delegation Favors To See Successful Agreement With Iran In Geneva

Tehran, Jan 6, IRNA – Visiting Italian parliamentary delegation in a statement Sunday announced their willingness to see a breakthrough agreement with Iran in Geneva, a reference to the November 24 deal struck by Iran and the western governments. Presided by Chairman of Italian Senate Foreign Policy Commission Senator Pier Ferdinando Casini, the Italian delegation arrived in Tehran on Friday at the invitation of Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi. The statement said, ˈWe favor to see a historical agreement which will be able to guarantee Iranˈs right to produce peaceful nuclear energy and ensure the West of peaceful nature of Iranˈs nuclear program.ˈ They stressed the need to reestablish an atmosphere of friendship and cooperation between Iran and Italy, adding that Italy which has always served a communicating bridge in the course of history believes that Iran has to play due role in a joint work to create stability in the entire region, from Afghanistan to Iraq, Syria to Lebanon and Palestine. Earlier, Italyˈs Foreign Minister Emma Bonino who visited Tehran as the countryˈs first foreign minister in the past ten years, had called for compiling a road-map for economic, industrial, scientific and cultural cooperation between Iran and Italy./end
