Jokowi Meet Yogyakarta Sultan

Jakarta, June 2 (Antara) - Presidential candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to meet Yogyakarta Sultan concurrently Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X at Kilen Palace, in Yogyakarta, on Monday. Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono confirmed about his planned meeting with Jokowi. "Yes, tomorrow Jokowi will come for a visit. The letter was received yesterday, I will meet Jokowi tomorrow," Sultan said after attending a seminar in Jakarta, Sunday afternoon. He said the visit of Jokowi and his partner, Jusuf Kalla, to Kilen Palace had no particular agenda. "There is no particular agenda, it`s just a get-together," he said. Sultan did not specifically express his support to Jokowi, but he said next president should serve the people. The next president should also has a commitment to the fight against corruption, collusion and nepotism, he added. During his stay in Yogyakarta, Jokowi will also visit famous hangout spot Malioboro and traditional market Beringharjo. He will also pay a homage to the grave of national hero Great General Sudirman, meet Yogyakarta artists and men of culture, as well as hold a dialog with local people. Jokowi is also slated to attend a local meeting of GP Ansor, the youth wing of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) at Sunan Pandanaran Islamic boarding school in Sleman. Two pairs of presidential and vice presidential hopefuls will participate in the presidential election to be held on July 9, 2014. They are Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa and Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla.
