Majlis To Examine EU Parliamentˈs Anti-Iran Resolution: MP

Tehran, April 5, IRNA – Spokesman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said on Friday that the Commission will review the European Union parliamentˈs anti-Iran resolution in its first session in the new year (started March 21). Talking to IRNA on Friday, Seyyed Hossein Naqavi-Hosseini added that the Commission expects the countryˈs diplomacy apparatus to seriously deal with the countries supporting the resolution. ˈWe expect Foreign Ministry summon ambassadors of the countries involved in approving the resolution in EU parliament and strongly warn them about the issue,ˈ he said. Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission will discuss the resolution in its first working session and will adopt necessary decisions thereon. Since the resolution is a gross interference in Iranˈs internal and even the slightest affairs, Foreign Ministry should heed the issue seriously, he said. Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham has described the resolution as unrealistic, saying that EU parliamentˈs measure in issuing resolutions and placing baseless claims against Iran regarding human rights is not constructive under the conditions when Iran and the EU have taken preliminary steps to solve outstanding issues./end
