Nackaerts: Iran-IAEA Had Good Negotiations

Vienna, May 16, IRNA – IAEA Deputy Director General Herman Nackaerts described talks between the agency and Iran 'good' and said that the two sides discussed different ways to verify Iran's nuclear program. Speaking to reporters at the end of the 2-day talks with Iran ambassador to International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Nackaerts said that they had a good exchange of views in this round of talks. He added that they also had talks about possible military dimensions of Iran nuclear program and considered ways to cooperate in this concern. The IAEA official also said that talks will continue next Monday. Iran permanent representative in IAEA said that atmosphere of talks between Iran and the agency in the past 2 days was 'constructive and friendly', adding that in this round of talks the two sides had progress concerning preparation of modality. Soltanieh, who was speaking in a joint press conference with Nackaerts, stressed that they had a 2-day intensive talk with the agency officials and made some progress concerning modality and a framework to settle remaining issues./end
