OIC condemns attacks in Iraq

ANKARA (AA) - March 22, 2012 - The secretary general of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned Tuesday's bomb attacks in Iraq, his office said. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu strongly condemned bomb attacks in Baghdad, Kirkuk, Hilla, Salah ad Din, Mosul, Ramadi, Baqubah and Karbala and offered his condolences to families of the victims. Ihsanoglu wished those injured in attacks would recover soon, and called on the Iraqi people to maintain their unity, and to eliminate terrorist attacks that were causing conflict and dispute between the Iraqis. The secretary general underlined the need and importance of implementing the conditions of Mecca Document, which rejected violence and extreme movements, adding that OIC was ready to host another comprehensive meeting to make the document more influential. Attacks killed 46 across Iraq on March 20.
