Pakistani Minister Sees Iran-Pakistan Ties As Bright

Islamabad, Feb 18, IRNA - Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Friday that Pakistan values its ties with Iran and that relations between both states will be further strengthened. Talking to IRNA after the trilateral confab of Iran-Pakistan-Afghanistan, Malik said that the summit provided an opportunity to discuss regional issues. “Such events are extremely important for regional security”, he noted. Pakistan and Iran are like family members, Malik said, noting that "both countries share the same history, religion and culture. Malik expressed hope that this bond of friendship will continue to grow. The two-day trilateral summit which included high-ranking officials was held in Islamabad on Thursday and Friday./end
