Partnership of Russia, India and China has powerful stabilizing influence on region - Lavrov

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Strengthening trust and strategic partnership between Russia, India and China (RIC) has a powerful stabilizing influence on the region, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday opening a meeting with his Indian and Chinese counterparts.
"The number of held events serves as evidence that the mechanism of RIC remains in demand and effective," Lavrov said. "This is a dialogue platform which has become an important factor in global policy," he added.
"One can hardly count today that one country, or even a group of countries, has enough resources to effectively overcome key global problems," the foreign minister noted. "In order to draw a correct conclusion from this situation, it is necessary to build consensus among leading centers if power, involve a maximally wide range of countries and inter-state associations, develop flexible network structures. Precisely these principles are a foundation of the work of our ‘troika’ which is united by striving for facilitating the establishment of a multipolar, more stable, fair and safe system of international relations which should be based on the supremacy of law, equality of all members of international community, respect of principles and aims of UN Charter," he added.
"Strengthening trust, mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation, as well as strategic partnership of Russia, India and China, has a powerful stabilizing influence on the region, serves as a serious stimulating factor for promoting multilateral processes oriented at forming an architecture of all-encompassing, equal and indivisible security," Lavrov stressed.
"In the framework of the ‘troika’, a united approach has been formed aimed at gradually broadening multifaceted cooperation, especially in the context of responding to common threats, and deepening foreign policy coordination on leading international platforms," he said.
