PM URGES SCIENTISTS REFORM THEIR ACTS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Premier N.Altanhuyag Thirsday at a nuclear energy forum criticized scientists for their silence in defying recent speculations. "Nuclear energy in 50 years" scientific forum ran that day in connection with the 50th anniversary of establishment of Nuclear Energy Commission and 40th anniversary of the nation’s membership to the International Nuclear Energy Agency. The Premier condemned passive reaction of academicians against nuclear-related claims on radiation content in coal of the Baganuur mining and Government’s support for nuclear exploration. He reminded the scientists their responsibility in raising public awareness on scientific findings and new technologies in the nuclear energy. Noting some group’s deliberate misleading on the matter, the Premier urged the gathered to reform their activities.
