Putin says Russia will not plunge into Syria conflict

NOVO-OGARYOVO, September 30. /TASS/. Russia is not going to plunge into the conflict in Syria but it will provide air support to the Syrian army to fight terrorist groups, President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday. "Certainly, we are not going to plunge head over heels into this conflict. Our actions will be carried out within strict limits," Putin told a government meeting. The president said Russia "will support the Syrian army exclusively in its lawful battle against terrorist groups" and this support "will be provided via air, without participation in ground operations".
