Respecting Democratic Rules, Public Will, Only Way Out Of Syria, Ukraine Crises

Tehran, March 16, IRNA – Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said Sunday respecting democratic rules and the will of people is the only way out of the ongoing crises in Syria and Ukraine. Shamkhani made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Foreign Minister of Greece Evangelos Venizelos. Shamkhani, also a representative to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, added foreign interference as well as spread of violence and terrorism are against international peace and stability and would lead to complicated problems for their advocates. He added the only result of West’s interfering approach in the region was intensification of insecurity in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as un-controlled growth of terrorist group. Referring to Tehran’s upcoming talks with the 5+1, slated for March 17 in Vienna, Shamkhani said reaching a comprehensive agreement dependes on proving the good will and abidance by obligations by the other party./end
