Ruling Pheu Thai Party asks independent agencies to uphold justice

BANGKOK, April 5 (TNA) - The ruling Pheu Thai Party has asked the public to monitor three independent agencies closely, charging that they are “conspiring” to topple the caretaker government of Caretaker Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. Pheu Thai Party Deputy Spokesman Anusorn Iamsa-ard claimed on Saturday (Apr 5) that the Thai society is now at risk like "being rested between buffalo horns”, the left one belongs to a “silent coup” while the right one is of a “boisterous coup by, probably, the military”. Anusorn told reporters that the Thai society must closely monitor the three independent agencies, including the Constitutional Court, the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Election Commission of Thailand (EC), alleging that they are now acting as a “black hole of democracy" and conspiring to topple the caretaker government. Urging the three agencies to perform their duties based on the laws, especially on the ongoing probe against the caretaker prime minister on alleged irregularities, the Pheu Thai Party deputy spokesman cautioned that a forced change in the government leader would create a pressure and cause damage to the nation eventually. The deputy spokesman called on anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban to end his group's more than five-month demonstration because it has enormously affected the national economy, while the number of his supporters has dropped.
