Russia, India, China ministers urge states to reject unilateral economic pressure

BEIJING, February 2. /TASS/. Foreign ministers of Russia, India and China on Monday called on members of the Group of 20 most-developed countries to reject unilateral coercive measures seeking to impose economic pressure without appropriate resolutions from the United Nations Security Council. A communique issued after a meeting between Sergey Lavrov, Sushma Swaraj and Wang Yi in Beijing said: "The ministers stressed that global economic management should ensure stable growth in the world economy." The ministers "called for an immediate reform of the international financial system to increase the role and representativity of the developing nations and their markets", the communique said. They "pledged to boost co-operation within the G20 and urged its members to strengthen co-ordination of their macroeconomic policies as well as to reject protectionism and all forms of unilateral measures of economic pressure without corresponding resolutions by the UN Security Council," it added. The ministers said they would help China in hosting the G20 summit in 2016, according to the statement. Read more
