Russian-Turkish-Iranian summit on Syria to be held in Tehran in September - Erdogan’s spokesman

ANKARA, August 15. /TASS/. The third meeting of the Turkish, Russian and Iranian leaders on the Syrian settlement is scheduled to be held in Tehran in early September, Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said on Wednesday.
"The third trilateral meeting between the Turkish, Russian and Iranian presidents on Syria as part of the Astana process is scheduled to be held in the first week of September. It will be held in Tehran," Anadolu Agency quotes him as saying.
Russian Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev told TASS in late July that the Astana format summit will be held in the Iranian capital in September. He noted that no specific date had been determined.
On November 22, 2017, Russian, Iranian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin, Hassan Rouhani and Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a meeting in Sochi, during which they stressed that significant progress had been made in the joint fight against terrorism in Syria and that a new stage in resolving the crisis in that country had begun. The next step in that process was the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi on January 30, which brought together more than 1,500 delegates representing all strata of Syrian society. Its participants decided to set up the Constitutional Council and form the Constitutional Commission.
On April 4, the Russian, Turkish and Iranian leaders held a summit on the Syrian settlement in Ankara. The parties adopted a joint statement expressing their determination to push ahead with their efforts and continue work on the issue. The next trilateral summit was scheduled to be held in Tehran.
