Sanctions Cannot Shake Determination Of Iran: Former Diplomat

Islamabad, July 1, IRNA – Former Pakistani diplomat on Saturday said that sanctions have not shaken the determination of the government and the people of Iran to pursue independent policies.
Talking to IRNA, former ambassador to UAE, Air Marshal (Retd) Syed Qaiser Hussain described sanctions against Iran as a futile exercise.
The analyst expressing his views said sanctions cannot weaken any country in the world, infact they provide opportunities for nations to unite on a single front.
He added sanctions have failed against Iran because the country is progressing in all fields depending upon its own resources.
“Iranians are following the policy of self-sufficiency,” he pointed out.
The former diplomat was of the view that a country can progress only if it is not dependent upon the resources of other countries.
The analyst said that today Iran has achieved the status of a respectable nation through their struggle.
He said sanctions are unjustified against Islamic Republic, adding that Iran has become excellent example of resilience for the whole world by resisting the Western sanctions.
“You cannot stop development in Iran by imposing sanctions, I salute the steadfastness of Iranian people and the government of Iran,” he said.
Qaiser Hussain to a question said definitely the US and West have failed in their conspiracies against Iran.
He was of the view that Iran is an important country of the region and cannot be isolated by building pressure. “The policy of coercion always produces adverse results,” he warned.
“Yes the Islamic Revolution of Iran has been the source of inspiration behind the awakening movement in Egypt,” added the analyst.
Qaiser Hussain said no system except Islam can solve the problems of the world. He said that Islamic system of Iran must be followed by the new Egyptian government.
Syed Qaiser Hussain has served as acting chief of the Pakistan Air Force. After retirement he was appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to UAE./end
