Tehran Friday Prayers Headquarters Decries Mass Killing Of Muslims In Myanmar

Tehran, July 23, IRNA -- Tehran Friday Prayers Headquarters on Sunday expressed outrage at the merciless massacre of Muslims in Myanmar. The body said in a statement that once again the international community witnessed merciless and inhuman mass killings of Muslims before the eyes of the so-called advocates of human rights. "Muslims in Myanmar are now experiencing the most hostility in their history at a time when advocates of human rights have kept silent toward the carnage. The waves of crimes perpetrated against Muslims triggered waves of concerns and hatred among Islamic societies worldwide." It said that there is no doubt that this heinous and barbaric acts are perpetrated in the context of Islamophobia in order to eradicate Islamic societies in the west, western countries and in the US in particular. The body termed the crimes outrageous sympathizing with the bereaved families of the victims and called for immediate reaction from international community. It said that the United Nations, UN Council for human rights and the freedom loving nations mainly the Islamic states must deal with the issue. The statement called on Iran’s foreign ministry to make use of diplomatic channels to support Muslim people in Myanmar and to condemn the inhuman behavior of Budhists. It called for emergency meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation./end
