U.S. President says killing of civilians in Syria unacceptable

SEOUL (AA) – March 25, 2012 - U.S. President Barack Obama said that killing of civilians in Syria was unacceptable. Following his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Seoul on Sunday, Obama said that they focused on Syria issue during the meeting, adding that they discussed the attitude of both regional and international coalition regarding the incidents in Syria. Noting that "Syria's friends meeting" would take place in Istanbul on April 2, Obama thanked Turkey for hosting such a meeting. Regarding Iran's nuclear program, Obama said that the process about diplomatic relations with Iran was about to end, adding that a progress should certainly be recorded about this issue. Obama said that Turkey and the U.S. were in harmony regrading fight against PKK terrorism. Obama also invited Erdogan in NATO Summit which will be held in Chicago.
