Zimbabwe FM: Sanctions Unable To Affect Iran’s Progress, Power

Addis Ababa, Jan 31, IRNA - Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Mamben Gigoy on Monday reiterated that sanctions against Iran cannot affect its progress and power because it has already been under sanctions since the victory of Islamic Revolution in 1979.
Gigoy made the remark in an interview with IRNA on the sidelines of African Union General Assembly meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Gigoy said his country too has been under European Union's sanctions and added that sanctions are not the way to settle differences but they only deteriorate and complicates the situation.
Condemning EU sanctions on Iran and referring to positive negotiation for settlement of differences, he said sanction is not a proper approach to Iran that enjoys a rich culture and civilization.
The Zimbabwean foreign minister supported Iran’s nuclear activities and said undoubtedly Iranian nuclear activities are peaceful and just for acquiring technology for generation of electricity./end
