Chinese gvt to send 1 mln USD of aid to quake zone

BEIJING (A.A) - October 29, 2011 – The Chinese government will send 1 million USD of aid to Turkish quake survivors, Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Saturday. The ministry said China was closely monitoring developments in the quake-hit eastern Turkish province of Van, and was ready to extend new assistance to quake survivors. Chinese Red Cross has donated 50,000 USD for Turkish quake survivors. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake jolted Van last Sunday, killing at least 576 and injuring 2,608. 187 people were pulled alive from the rubble.
