Turkey acted properly in euro crisis, says official from German business world

BERLIN (A.A) - November 11, 2011 - Hans-Olaf Henkel, the former head of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), has said that Turkey acted properly in euro crisis. Speaking to AA correspondent in Berlin, Henkel said that euro took a heavy toll on Greek economy, stating that unemployment was growing, economy was getting worse and number of companies was decreasing in Greece. Henkel said the situation was exactly opposite in Turkey. "Economy is growing, unemployment is decreasing and inflation is under control in Turkey," he said. Turkey was not included in the eurozone and it was good for Turkey, he said. Henkel said that he always supported Turkey's EU bid, adding that Turkey was a dynamic country and it would be beneficial for Europe.
