Thai Scholar: Washington Cannot Stand Iran’s Growing Influence

Kuala Lumpur, Nov 12, IRNA – A Thailand university scholar said Washington cannot stand the decline of its power while the influence of Iran in the world is growing. Stressing that the US pressures on the international bodies to confront Iran will be of no use, Dr. Charan Malulim told IRNA in an exclusive interview that the exit of American troops from Iraq was another sign of the decline of the US power in determining the fate of countries. He said simultaneous with the fading US authority in the region, Iran’s power is growing despite the fact that it is under severe western pressures. Dr Charan further stressed that the US was trying to divert the attention of the world public opinion from its own internal problems to Iran, noting that both the US and the Zionist regime were facing massive public protests by their own peoples. Deploring the behavior of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in allowing the US and the Zionist regime to pressure it, he pointed to the history of Iran’s transparent cooperation with the nuclear watchdog body and said the recent IAEA report was based on not technical observations but on political pressures put on it due to the present regional conditions. To illuminate his point, the scholar referred to a number of recent opinion polls undertaken in the Arab world and said the results state that only one out of five Arab people in the region supports US policies which proves that America sees no bright perspective ahead./end
