Islamic organization's head meets Turkish community in Australia

MELBOURNE (A.A) - February 20, 2012 - The secretary general of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) met on Monday Turkish community in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, who is paying a formal visit to Australia, said that the OIC was finding solutions and expressing views about daily political and economic issues, and was carrying out an active policy towards the ongoing changes in the world. Ihsanoglu said he had fruitful talks with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and other ministers, and exchanged views on initiatives that could be held regarding Syria and Palestine. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu is the first OIC secretary general ever to pay a formal visit to Australia.
