Pakistan Condemns Quran Burning At US-Controlled Base

Islamabad, Feb. 25, IRNA – Pakistan on Friday condemned desecration of the Holy Quran in strongest possible terms at the American-controlled Bagram air base in Afghanistan. “The Government and the people of Pakistan condemn desecration of the Holy Quran in strongest possible terms,” the Foreign Ministry said. The incident sparked violent reaction across Afghanistan, claiming several lives. “This is absolutely important that such utterly irresponsible and reprehensible acts do not recur,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Abdul Basit, said.
