Iran seizes over 4.8 tons of illicit drugs in 2 days

TEHRAN, March 11 (MNA) – Iranian Border Police Deputy Commander Amir Ahmad Geravand announced on Saturday that over 4.8 tons of illicit drugs have been seized over the past two days in border areas across the country. According to the UN, Iran ranks first among all countries in the world in shutting down drug routes into its territory. Iran has been used as the main conduit for smuggling illicit drugs from its eastern neighbors to drug kingpins in Europe.
