Iranian official warns about Iran’s aging population

TEHRAN,April 11(MNA) – Deputy Health Minister Ali Reza Mesdaqinia said on Tuesday that Iran’s population pyramid is changing and the population of the young people is shrinking. He said that the population of the elderly above 60 will reach one fourth of the country’s population in three years. Mesdaqinia also called on policymakers to take account of the issue in their planning for the country.
