Iran condemns terrorist attacks in Iraq

TEHRAN,April 21(MNA) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian condemned on Thursday the recent terrorist attacks which ripped through Iraqi cities. According to AP, at least 14 bombs and mortar shells exploded across 10 cities over three hours on Thursday, killing at least 30 and wounding 117 people, including a number of Iranian pilgrims. The Iranian Foreign Ministry official said that the percipient, patient, and brave Iraqi people are well aware of the motives behind the terrorist attacks, emphasizing that the Iraqi government, police, and security forces are capable of protecting the security of the Arab country. Amir-Abdollahian said only “enemies of the region” will benefit from these terrorist acts. He also said that Iraq will come through difficult times, adding that the establishment of security in Iraq will improve the security of the region. Eight Iranians injured in Iraq blast In the terrorist attack in Baghdad, eight Iranians got injured, a Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization official said. Ali Heydari, the deputy head of the organization’s medical center said the injured were among pilgrims from Khorasan Razavi Province. Javad Khani, the representative of the organization in Karbala, released the names of the injured Iranians in the incident.
