Tehran Welcomes Unity Among Palestinian Factions

Tehran, May 30, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Tuesday welcomed unity among Palestinian groups of Fatah and Hamas and formation of Palestine National Reconciliation Government. Addressing a weekly press conference, Mehmanparast said, “Unity among all Palestinian groups is the prerequisite for Palestinian nation’s restoration of full rights and repatriation.” He said the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes unity among Palestinian groups because it is the main precondition for Palestinians’ repatriation. He added that a government should be formed in Palestine to run the country and occupiers too should return the Palestinian territories back to their main owners. On the upcoming Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) leaders in Tehran, Mehmanparast said the Summit will be held in Tehran late August with an aim to solve regional and international crises. Elsewhere in the press briefing, Mehmanparast said Iran will not allow distortion of the name of Persian Gulf as practiced by Google./end
