Two killers of Australian woman brought to re-enactment
PHUKET, THAILAND, June 26 (TNA) - National Police Chief Police General Priewpan Damapong brought two robbers who killed an Australian woman to a re-enactment at the scene here Tuesday, with the presence of the dead’s friends and local people.
The two robbers, Surasak Suwannachote and Surin Thabthong, who killed the 59-year-old Australian tourist, Smith Michelle Elizabeth, were brought by the national police chief and other senior police officers to the re-enactment on Kata Noi Road beside the Katathani Hotel in the Karon locality of Mueang district, where a number of people, including friends of the dead, witnessed.
Some people raised messages to condemn the culprits; while others demanded their execution. Many people loudly cursed at the robbers and police had to prevent an attack on them by the angry crowd.
After the re-enactment, police brought the two suspects into the Katathani Hotel for a press conference and then took them to the Phuket provincial court to seek the first round, 12 days, of their detention and opposed their bail, as the crime is serious and the suspects are not local and earlier tried to escape.
