Culture Minister: Media Should Boost Public Exhilaration

Tehran, July 28, IRNA – Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini called for media’s greater role in boosting national exhilaration and their coordinating role between people and officials. Hosseini made the remarks in a meeting with managing directors of the newspapers and news agencies in Tehran on Friday. “The global arrogance has pursued two types of policies (acknowledged and unacknowledged) against the Islamic Republic of Iran after the victory of 1979 Islamic Revolution. Although some plots and crimes by the US and other arrogant powers have been pursued against the Islamic Republic of Iran, they do not acknowledge them. On the contrary, other policies have been implemented and they have brazenly acknowledged it,” the culture minister added. He pointed out that sanctions imposed against the Islamic Republic of Iran falls within the second category (i.e., both implemented and brazenly acknowledged). Hosseini mentioned the uniqueness of the media role in thwarting the enemy’s propaganda and media war with the purpose of weakening the people’s morale inside the country and winning the support of public opinion abroad. “Global arrogance makes full use from its propaganda and media capabilities in order to pursue its already acknowledged policies because the effect of such policies will some time become evident,” he added./end
